What Floor Leveling Means

Floor leveling corrects low areas, high spots, slopes, ridges, and other substrate irregularities that interfere with flooring installation.

Where It Is Commonly Used

It is performed before floating, glue-down, tile, hardwood, and resilient flooring when the surface does not meet the product’s flatness requirement.

Benefits

A flatter substrate supports tighter joints, reduces movement, improves appearance, and lowers the risk of hollow spots, rocking, separation, and premature wear.

Important

Important Considerations

Flat and level are not always the same requirement. The cause of movement or unevenness should be understood before patching, grinding, or applying a leveling compound.
